What are different breast implant materials?

There are currently two types of breast implant materials that are used in breast augmentation procedures: silicone gel and saline.
Silicone gel implants are filled with a thick, cohesive silicone gel that closely mimics the feel of natural breast tissue. They come in different shapes and sizes, the round and teardrop shape are the two most common.
Saline implants are filled with a sterile saltwater solution after being inserted into the breast. They come pre-filled and are inserted into the breast empty and then filled to the desired size after being positioned.
